World Forum The Hague to offset local CO2 with the Climate Fund

December 2, 2021 – The Hague. Event location World Forum The Hague has signed an agreement with the Climate Fund to locally offset the organization's CO2022 emissions from 2 onwards. With the World Forum's financial contribution, the Climate Fund supports local energy-saving projects in The Hague. For example, think of solar panels on the roof of a school.

The desire to compensate locally

Sustainability is important to World Forum The Hague. They are certified with the Golden Green Key and the ISO20121 certification. World Forum The Hague tries to limit the CO2 emissions of the organization as much as possible. The CO2 emissions that do exist, the organization previously compensated with another player that supports projects worldwide.

Michiel Middendorf, General Manager World Forum The Hague: 'We have consciously chosen to offset our CO2022 emissions as locally as possible from 2 onwards. We have chosen the Climate Fund in The Hague because the foundation makes a direct contribution to projects in the city.'

Heleen Weening, director of the Climate Fund: 'We are very proud of this collaboration with the World Forum The Hague! The organization is a good example of sustainable entrepreneurship for other entrepreneurs. By compensating the CO2 emissions through us, the World Forum directly stimulates sustainability in The Hague.'
