Are you an experienced hospitality or event professional who keeps an overview when everything is happening at once? Do you thrive on variety, teamwork, and quickly recognizing, resolving, or preventing operational challenges? Then we would love to get to know you, because we are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our Duty team!
As Duty Manager, you are responsible for the operational execution on the floor. Preparation and planning are handled by Project Management, but as soon as setup starts and the event approaches, you are the one who translates the script into practice.
You ensure that teams know what needs to be done, that the client is unburdened, and that the event runs smoothly, safely, and professionally. You are the point of contact for the client during the setup, execution, and dismantling of the event, liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and other involved parties.
You work on a wide mix of conferences and events, often multi-day and international, but also on national gatherings, smaller events, and cultural shows. What makes this position enjoyable is that you are at the heart of the operation. You are actively involved, liaise quickly with colleagues, clients, and suppliers, and see the direct results of your work. No event and no client is the same. One day it is about tight organization, the next about making quick adjustments, reassuring a client, or resolving a bottleneck before it escalates.
Good to Know
This position requires flexibility. Events do not only take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. You will work irregular hours, with long shifts, in the evenings, on weekends, and on public holidays. This needs to suit you. You will also work in a small team. Therefore, if someone is absent, this also requires flexibility.
On the other hand, you work in an environment where there is a lot going on and where you really make a difference. You see immediately when an event is running smoothly, when a client is satisfied, and when visitors go home with a good feeling. It is precisely this variety, responsibility, and collaboration that make this role special.
You are an experienced hospitality or event professional who thrives on operations, client contact, and teamwork. You can work independently, take responsibility, and think ahead. You pay attention to detail, maintain an overview, and have a good sense of what is needed to ensure an event runs smoothly.
At the same time, you know that a successful event is always a team effort. You take the lead when necessary, but do so collaboratively and with an eye on the shared goal: delivering a professional, safe, and welcoming event for our clients and visitors.
In addition, you possess approximately three to five years of relevant work experience within hospitality, events, or operational event execution. Experience as a Party Manager, Banqueting Manager, Event Operations Supervisor, or in a similar role is a strong advantage. You have the ability to coordinate events independently and take responsibility during execution. Thanks to your strong communication skills, you interact effortlessly with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and supervisors. You are proactive, practical, and have a solution-oriented attitude. Even when pressure mounts, you remain calm, maintain an overview, and know how to set the right priorities.
Hospitality is in your DNA and you are flexible, available during evenings, weekends, and holidays. You have a good command of both Dutch and English and are available for 40 hours per week. The start date can be determined in consultation.
