Hundreds of young leaders are coming together this week at World Forum The Hague
DEN HAAG - Tijdens het internationale congres One Young World, dat van 17 t/m 20 oktober 2018 plaatsvindt in Den Haag, komen ruim 1.800 jonge talenten uit meer dan 190 landen naar Den Haag om te bouwen aan een betere, rechtvaardige en veilige wereld. The organizer of the Summit is One Young World. A non-profit organization that supports young talents from all over the world and helps to make connections in order to make a positive change in the world. With 1.900 participants, The Hague’s edition of the ‘Davos of young people’ is the largest One Young World conference ever. This year, the young leaders of tomorrow will be welcomed by Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands – the honorary guest at the Summit’s Opening Ceremony that will be held at The Peace Palace. The main event will continue at World Forum The Hague, where the initiative Ambassadors will work on the world’s toughest challenges outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals through their own projects and initiatives, many of which already made a real impact.
‘Education is our ammunition’
The young talents have discussions about themes such as human rights, the environment, public health, poverty and education. Key global figures and CEOs come to The Hague to inspire and coach the young talents to achieve their goal: to build a better world together. This year, the young Ambassadors will learn about the Political Challenges from the Ex-Prime Minister of the UK, Sir John Major; about the Energy Transformation from Chief Executives of BP and Shell; about Human Rights from the Secretary General of Amnesty International; and much more on Poverty Alleviation, Economic Development, Gender Equality and Education from the most inspiring speakers.
