A breath of fresh air in World Forum The Hague during the Union World Conference on Lung Health
THE HAGUE – With a strong commitment to health and wellbeing, World Forum The Hague supports the struggle against lung diseases, air pollution and anti-smoking policy. The venue in The Hague hosts the influential 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health from 24-27 October 2018.
The international World Conference on Lung Health, organized by the Union, is the largest gathering of recognised global experts ranging from clinicians and public health workers to policymakers and researchers, with a common aim to find solution to “the White Plague”. It is a great honour for World Forum The Hague to welcome thousands of delegates from around the globe, together with the honorary guests, Her Imperial Highness Princess Akishino of Japan and Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of The Netherlands, as active fighters for human rights and the anti-Tuberculosis movement.
Vitality program for delegates and staff
World Forum The Hague is constantly introducing various initiatives when it comes to health and vitality. “At World Forum we feel responsible for the wellbeing of our employees and our visitors. With the Vitality Program that we have recently introduced, we aim to inspire everyone to continue a healthy lifestyle at conferences. This fits in perfectly with the World Lung Conference, where clean air and vitality are essential” – Kirsten Vosmer, Commercial Manager. Moreover, with a strong anti-smoking policy, World Forum fights for fresh air in and around the venue.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), Tuberculosis is one of the top 10 death causes worldwide, that disproportionally affects the developing world. The conference theme “Declaring Our Rights” highlights the fact that every individual has the right to health, and that elimination of Tuberculosis and achievement of the respective health-related UN Sustainable Development Goals requires a coordinated response driven by the human rights. The Hague – the city with origins deeply entrenched in peace, welfare and justice – will therefore provide a perfect environment for collaboration.
